How we roll
Before the big day
Why no Bronze package?
We used to offer a 4 hour Bronze package, but we began to feel we were missing parts of your wedding day and not telling the whole story. Only being present for a limited number of hours doesn’t suit our style to document your day. If you are having something different and genuinely only require a smaller number of hours, say Hi and we’ll see what we can do.
Have you photographed {our venue} before?
Maybe. Maybe not. But it doesn’t really matter. Have you been married in that venue before?
Part of our approach is being able to bring out the best in any location. Sometimes we do our very best work when placed in unfamiliar locations and venues – its helpful in thinking outside the box. Don’t worry about it – we’ve got it covered!
Do you travel?
Of course. Our travel fees are fairly typical – the return costs to ourselves to get to your destination and stay for the required length of time. We’re not flashy, but we need to be comfortable!
Do you accept credit cards?
We will accept a credit card payment via PayPal. It’s easy!
Can we make part-payments?
Most people like paying the final payment in one big lump sum before the wedding, but if it’s easier for you we’ll setup a payment system that Invoices you every week / fortnight / month. Just let us know.
During the big day
How many of you are there?
We’re currently a team of 2 – Jason & Aneta – and on any Wedding you’ll always see both of us. But we’re always working and collaborating with others. Our photographic and business network is strong, on any event we may work with or bring along any number of others, but you’ll know to expect them!
Can we guarantee amazing portraits on our wedding day?
Honestly, the wedding day is a pretty terrible time for bridal portraits – you’ve got a tight schedule and family and friends to spend time with. If portraits are really important to you, why don’t we schedule in an engagement / bridal / day-after session?
How long for our photos?
How long have you got?
We have no rules. We’ll take as little or as long as you wish for your wedding photos. Our style is more geared towards documenting the festivities of the day, but we understand the need for a handful of beautiful posed portraits your grandmother would love on her mantlepiece. The more time and freedom you allow for these photos, the higher chance you’ll get something creative, something quirky, something different. 30 minutes will allow for a few quick safe shots, 2 hours will allow us time to try a few things. You pick!
We’ve got 2 / 3 / 4 photo locations to visit, can we do them all?
As much as we love visiting different locations for photos, you must factor in driving time. Imagine trying to coerce a bridal party of 8 people into 2 cars and drive across Wellington City at 4.30pm on a Friday – you can already see how hard that sounds! Factoring a solid 30mins driving time for every location you want to visit into the time above will help you decide if 2 or 3 locations are possible.
What gear do you use?
We’re digital Nikon shooters. We typically rock the following to every wedding:
2 x Nikon D700 camera bodies
Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8
Nikon 35mm f/1.4
Nikon 45mm TS-E f/2.8
Nikon 50mm f/1.4
Nikon 85mm f/1.4
Nikon 70-200 f/2.8
3 x SB800 flashes
128Gb of memory cards (at last count)
… and a bunch of other backup cameras (x3), backup lenses, remote triggers, umbrellas, gels, tripods and other useful things we hardly use but make us look good!
Do you shoot film?
We have a Mamiya Medium Format camera and have been known to fire off a few shots of 120 film, but it’s a little too bulky and slow for our normal approach to Weddings. If you wanted a couple of shots we might be able to work something out!
After the big day
How long until we get to see our photos?
Depending on the time of year, we will try to deliver wedding photos within 5-6 weeks. Other photo shoots may take varying amounts of time. We know you’re desperate to see your photos, but the quality of our final delivery is important. If you’re interested in a sneak peek or maybe a few teasers, please let us know!
